About Good Vibes Sound

At Good Vibes, we're passionate about making your home entertainment the best experience possible and back it up with local service. It began in the 70's selling stereo gear on the U of I campus, portable audio was next, then car stereo was a thing before Sony Trinitrons & Betamaxes changed TV forever. DISH came along in the 90's and we jumped on board. Today Good Vibes continues to be one of DISH's biggest dealers in downstate IL both for residential and commercial installations. HDTV changed home entertainment dramatically and so the evolution continues right up to today's Dolby Atmos Theater Systems, OLED 4K TVs, DISH Hoppers, Google Home Automation with voice control, Wi-Fi streaming systems and networking.

The sales people were wonderful when I went to look for a new TV. He took his time with me and explained everything to me. The installation people were also great! I recommend them to anyone looking for a new TV!

Just wanted to give a quick shoutout to Good Vibes! I called them for some help setting up a receiver (didn’t even buy it there), and they still spent the time walking me through it over the phone. Super nice people who clearly know their stuff. Really appreciate the help and I’ll definitely be going back there for anything audio/video! This kind of service is so rare and hard to find! I always recommend them as they are one of the rare brick and mortar non corporate audio/video shops!

In an age of Big Box Stores, Good Vibes is a throwback to the relaxed audio/video specialty stores of yore, yet it stocks all the latest and greatest gear at competitive prices. The staff is knowledgeable and passionate about what they sell. I spent over an hour discussing the advantages of similarly priced 65-inch Sony, LG and Samsung OLED TV models. One special shout-out to Jason, their installer. He knows TVs inside and out and is a perfectionist when it comes to installations. He actually used a carpenter's level to insure my TV was perfectly angled and positioned. He performed all of the basic set up and then some. Tell him your viewing preferences and he adjusts the set to those before he departs. I asked for my new LG G5 to be set for accurate streaming and cinema and he obliged. It felt good doing business with a civilized locally owned store. (Incidentally, I paid full retail price and received no special accommodation. I did not offer to write this review.)
